Brigitte Bardot Hands $320,000 Royalties To Animal Charities

Former screen siren Brigitte Bardot picked up $320,000 in royalties for allowing her voice to be used in a French TV ad – and gave the cash to her beloved animal charities.

A promotional campaign for a film festival in France used Bardot’s song Tu M’as Trop Menti (You Lied To Me Too Much), which she performed for the movie soundtrack of Masculine, Feminine in 1966, according to Britain’s News of the World.

Bardot was paid the staggering sum by advertising bosses, but has decided to use the cash to boost the profile of her favorite animal-rights charities.

The former actress is an outspoken campaigner against animal cruelty, taking aim at Spanish bullfighting, Canada’s seal culling and even her old pal Sophia Loren, who refuses to stop wearing animal pelts.
