Madonna’s Brother Wants ‘Idol’ Spot

Filed under: American Idol, Howard Stern, Madonna, Perez Hilton

Madonna’s brother, Christopher Ciccone, is not giving up on his quest to take Simon Cowell’s seat as a judge on Fox’s hit “American Idol.”

Ciccone at various times during his 25-year career has served as his sister’s assistant, backup dancer, stylist and artistic director. He launched a Facebook page — “Christopher Ciccone for American Idol! — in January, though it’s so far drawn only 602 members. Still, he’s not giving up.

“I think I can bring a particular kind of credibility to the show. I’d be the only person sitting at the table who actually created a pop star from the beginning, and helped keep her there for 20 years,” he says. “I know what it takes to make it.”

Ciccone isn’t worried about his competitors for the Cowell seat — who are rumored to include Howard Stern, Interscope chief Jimmy Iovine, Warner Music CEO Lyor Cohen and former Sony Music boss Tommy Mottola.

“And I know producers are talking to Perez [Hilton], although he’s probably the only person who doesn’t realize how irrelevant he is.”

Crystal Bowersox Returns To ‘American Idol’ Competition Following Hospitalization

Filed under: American Idol, Ellen DeGeneres, Kelly Clarkson, Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell

Crystal Bowersox is back.

The singer whose hospitalization earlier this week, reportedly due to diabetes, forced a change in the “American Idol” line up on Tuesday (forcing the men to sing a day earlier), competed on Wednesday night.

Show host Ryan Seacrest addressed what happened with Crystal, who said she was “good” following her hospitalization.

The dreadlocked 24-year-old mom from Ohio added she is a “tough cookie.”

And she proved her mettle, performing the Creedence Clearwater Revival song, “Long As I Can See The Light” – a performance for which Simon Cowell commended her.

“I know how sick you were over the last 24 hours,”

Simon said.

“It wasn’t just like catching a cold or something, you really were ill, and I didn’t know whether you were gonna be back here this week.

“What’s great about you is you didn’t play the whole sympathy thing,” he continued. “You chose a great song. I have to tell you something… I completely mis-underestimated you from last week, because for you to come back this week with that song, that performance, the vocal was incredible and I promise you this was like the moment we realized with Kelly Clarkson that we’ve got a serious artist here and I think we’ve got a really serious artist with you, congratulations.”

Ellen DeGeneres also sang Crystal’s praises, but mostly she said she was thankful Crystal was back in the competition.

“I’m so glad you’re here today,” Ellen said. “I was so scared for you. Please stay healthy. We need you here. You’re amazing.”

Hey Simon and Co. might just be realizing this today about Crystal I had already called it HERE.

‘American Idol’ Contestant Crystal Bowersox In Hospital; Boys Will Perform Tonight

“American Idol” hopeful Crystal Bowersox has been taken to the hospital for medical issues, causing a switch in this week’s “Idol” performance schedule.

The remaining 10 girls had been scheduled to sing Tuesday night but instead the boys will perform. A show insider says that Bowersox is expected to perform with the girls on Wednesday. Another source says that Bowersox is battling “serious health issues.”

According to US Weekly, Bowersox, the 24-year-old Ohio mom who wowed the “American Idol” judges last week with her performance of Alanis Morissette’s “Hand in My Pocket,” has been hospitalized and is recovering from diabetes complications.

Fox issued the following statement Tuesday afternoon:

“Due to medical issues which would prevent Crystal Bowersox from performing tonight, the 10 male semifinalists will perform this evening, and the 10 female semifinalists will perform tomorrow night.”

The last-minute switch isn’t expected to give the girls an unfair advantage with extra rehearsal time; the boys are said to be rehearsing for tonight’s performance.

Wow this is sad news. Out of the 24 hopefuls I feel only Bowersox has a shot to be really successful in the music business.
I sure hope she can continue in the competition.

Adam Lambert Says Susan Boyle’s Album Made Him Laugh

Filed under: Adam Lambert, American Idol, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Susan Boyle, Tool of the Day

When Adam LamEbert released his debut album For Your Entertainment in November, he was able to best both Rihanna and pal Lady Gaga on the albums chart. But he was still outsold by one other reality show contestant: Susan Boyle.

“I know, if only it weren’t for Susan Boyle!”

the “American Idol” alum joked in the March issue of the U.K.’s Gay Times magazine

“I’m happy for her success, but that album is terrible. [The cover of the Rolling Stones'] ‘Wild Horses’ is the one that made me laugh the hardest. I just died when I heard it. I was crying with laughter. It was the most horrendous, sacrilegious treatment of that song!”

And though his criticism of Boyle’s album sounds harsh, Lambert is more intent on silencing his own critics.

“Still, when my album charted, it was validating,” he added. “I was feeling bit attacked, like I had to vindicate something. I thought: ‘Wow, look what I did.’ “

Earlier this month, Lambert told MTV News that he was excited to tour overseas, where he thinks his on- and offstage antics won’t seem so controversial.

“I think the European audiences are generally a little more liberal,”

he said.

“I’m sure there are certain things that I do that won’t upset people as much as they do here.”

Hey Adam you TOOL, I can’t wait for the fans in the UK to get a hold of you, you dissed their National Treasure and then your going to go there and look for support? How many wrong moves can you make at a time? For dissing Subo your headed to my TOOL OF THE DAY section.

Clay Aiken Feels Simon Cowell’s Girlfriends Titties! – Photo

Filed under: American Idol, Simon Cowell, Titties

The other day we show you this PICTURE of Simon Cowell walking with new girlfriend Mezghan Hussainy. Minutes later some sends me the photo above of Clay Aiken squeezing the first titties he ever touched.

The titties belong to you guessed it Mezghan Hussainy Simon’s new girlfriend. This had me bewildered for a second, then I realized that Hussainy is a makeup artist on American Idol. Still no explanation as to why Clay Aiken of all people would be photographed squeezing her titties.

Wondering if there is a Simon-Mezhgan-Clay three way in the future?

Simon Cowell Looking for New Taylor Swift in ‘American Idol’s’ Top 24

Filed under: American Idol, Lady Gaga, Simon Cowell, Taylor Swift

Lady Gaga is his top pick for a potential music industry mentor to guide this season’s contestants.

Simon Cowell believes a woman is likely to win his final season on “American Idol.”

The acerbic British judge told a teleconference Thursday he thinks one of the 12 women among the ninth season’s 24 semifinalists has a good shot to win the Fox singing contest.

“We’ve had a few years of guys winning the show, and I would say there is definitely a better chance of a girl winning the show this year, certainly, than last year,”

Cowell said.

Whatever the gender, Cowell, who will leave at the end of the season to executive produce and judge an American edition of “The X Factor,” just wants to crown someone relevant.

“I’d love to find a Taylor Swift,”

he said.

Lady Gaga is his top pick for a potential music industry mentor to guide this season’s contestants, which include platinum-haired crooner Lilly Scott and throwback rocker Tyler Grady. Cowell called the outrageous Lady Gaga the “most relevant pop artist in the world right now.”

‘American Idol’ to Dedicate Episode to Haiti

The “American Idol” results show on Feb. 25 will spotlight “Idol” winner Kris Allen’s upcoming trip to Haiti with the United Nations Foundation to raise awareness and funds for Haiti relief.

The season eight winner will perform and share footage from his upcoming visit. Allen is set to travel Feb. 19 to meet with Haitians and UN staff to learn how people are recovering from the earthquake and find out what they will need in the months to come.

“I’m looking forward to traveling to Haiti to see the UN’s work firsthand,” said Allen. “The people of Haiti are rebuilding their country, and the UN is there to help them every step of the way. I look forward to sharing the images and stories from my trip with “Idol” viewers across the country.”

The United Nations has been working hand-in-hand with Haitians to help them recover by delivering food and water to millions of people, ensuring safety, providing employment and mitigating diseases such as measles and malaria.

Parents’ Group Urges Idol Bosses To Avoid Stern

Filed under: American Idol, Howard Stern, Simon Cowell

Executives at a parents’ rights group in the U.S. are urging American Idol bosses not to hire Howard Stern to replace Simon Cowell – insisting the shock jock is too controversial for the family-friendly TV show.

Cowell recently announced he will leave the judging panel of the hit singing contest next year, and Stern has confirmed he’s been in talks to take over.

But the news has infuriated bosses at The Parents Television Council (PTC), who fear Stern’s bad boy reputation could be disastrous for the popular talent show.

PTC President Tim Winter says in a statement:

“Unless Stern intends to undergo some sort of moth-to-butterfly metamorphosis – though in his case the change would be more like rattlesnake-to-Labrador retriever – adding him to American Idol would spell immediate death for one of the best franchises in American family entertainment.”

The organization has posted a petition on its website, urging worried parents to bombard Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly and American Idol executive producer Simon Fuller with complaints.

Winter adds,

“Fox should move immediately to repudiate these rumors and instead commit publicly to keeping American Idol safe for family viewing.”

This is funny. Stern wasn’t even offered the job and probably wouldn’t be. I don’t mind organizations forming for good causes but some go way overboard in their cause. This seems to be one.
