Damon Feels ‘Let Down’ By Obama

Filed under: Barack Obama, Matt Damon

Matt Damon is “disappointed” by Barack Obama’s performance as U.S. President so far – insisting the public is feeling “let down”.

The Bourne Supremacy actor pledged his allegiance to Obama’s campaign when he ran for the White House in 2008, and was ecstatic when the Democrat became the first mixed race president of the U.S. in January last year.

But Damon feels Obama has not lived up to expectations, and is wary of the leader’s controversial healthcare plan, which aims to give poor Americans free medical treatment.

Damon tells the New York Daily News,

“Politics is compromise. I’m disappointed in the healthcare plan and in the troop build-up in Afghanistan.

“Everyone feels a little let down because, on some level, people expected all their problems to go away. But real change comes from everyday people. You can’t wait for a leader.”

If Barack starts losing Hollywood he has some real problems!

First Lady Michelle Obama is said to have invited the stars of the series to perform at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on 5 April, after learning the couple’s two daughters are big fans of the program.

TV bosses have rejigged the show’s production schedule in a bid to accommodate the request, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Khloe Kardashian had the honor of meeting President Barack Obama today.

The reality show starlet visited the White House with her husband Lamar Odom, and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers, for a ceremony celebrating their 2009 NBA championship.

Khloe later tweeted,

“Such an amazing day! I just met Obama with my husband! :)” Her famous sister, Kim, took to Twitter as well on Monday, sounding a bit jealous of her little sibling. “Was he just amazing? Did u meet Michelle?” Kim asked before exclaiming “WOW.”

Khloe revealed earlier this month that Obama is her celebrity crush. No wonder it was such an amazing day!

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST!

OSLO (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for giving the world “hope for a better future” and striving for nuclear disarmament, in a surprise award that drew both warm praise and sharp criticism.

The decision to bestow one of the world’s top accolades on a president less than nine months into his first term, who has yet to score a major foreign policy success, was greeted with gasps of astonishment from journalists at the announcement in Oslo.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee praised Obama for “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.” But critics — especially in parts of the Arab and Muslim world — called its decision premature.

Obama’s press secretary woke him with the news before dawn and the president felt “humbled” by the award, a senior administration official said.

When told in an email from Reuters that many people around the world were stunned by the announcement, Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, responded: “As are we.”

Jennifer Lopez and Rosie Perez Fight Over Sotomayor

Jennifer Lopez

Puerto Rican actresses Jennifer Lopez and Rosie Perez are battling over the rights to turn the life story of Sonia Sotomayor, the first Latina appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court, into a movie.

The former In Living Color stars have been following the rise of Sotomayor’s career since before she was nominated for the Supreme Court by President Barack Obama earlier this year.

According to reports, they are both keen to make a biopic and the race is on to see who can secure the film rights first.A

A source tells the National Enquirer, “Rosie resents Jennifer going after the project because she says she would have wanted to make the movie whether Sotomayor was confirmed or not.

“(Lopez) hosted a dinner party for Justice Sotomayor right after her confirmation. It was to butter her up because Lopez thinks a film about her life story would be huge.
“Considering this is Hollywood… there may be two film versions of Sonia Sotomayor’s life.”
