Gossip Girl Filming Disrupted By Paparazzi Scuffle

Production on hit TV show Gossip Girl ground to a halt on Wednesday after a fight broke out between a set security guard and a paparazzo.

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively was shooting a scene in Midtown Manhattan with guest actor William Baldwin when a group of photographers began gathering around the set.

Tension grew between the bodyguards and the snappers as they ignored repeated requests to step back to avoid ruining the take.

But cameras had to stop rolling altogether when one stubborn photographer directed the racist ‘N’ word towards a member of security, sparking a violent confrontation which left the offending snapper nursing a bruised forehead.

An eyewitness tells says,

“The paparazzi were persistently ignoring the security and production staff, and the scene erupted. I clearly saw an exchange of verbal and physical blows.”

Police were called to the scene but neither party decided to press charges and filming resumed on Wednesday afternoon.

No Truth To Lively Playboy Shoot Report

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively’s representative has denied reports the actress is set to strip for men’s magazine Playboy, insisting there is “not one ounce of truth” to the rumours.

Editors at American tabloid National Enquirer claimed the star had been offered a “whopping $2.5 million to bare it all.” Lively was said to be seriously considering posing naked, despite her family being divided on the decision.

Affleck Stunned By Lively

Ben Affleck had no idea who Gossip Girl star Blake Lively was when she auditioned for his latest movie – and he was so stunned by her talent he hired her on the spot.

The actor/director was unaware of Lively’s fame when she tried out for a role in The Town, and was convinced she would be no good in front of the cameras.

But he was so impressed with the 22 year old’s performance he handed her the role immediately – and re-wrote the part of single-mum Krista to make it more suitable for a younger actress.

Affleck says,

“The whole movie kind of hinges in a lot of ways on her performance, and I knew it was going to be the hardest part to cast. This girl came in, and no one had said to me beforehand, ‘Hey, look for this person.’ And obviously she was really attractive, and so I thought, ‘Oh, here comes some blonde girl.’ She came in, did one reading, and just crushed it. I was sort of stunned. I said, ‘Jeez, you know, that was really f**king good. Who are you?’ She didn’t mention that she was on a television show.

“I just said, ‘Look, there’s no alternative. I don’t have a second choice (in casting this role).’”

And Affleck is convinced Lively has a big future in Hollywood.

He adds,

“I want to be on the record because I think she’s really going to blow up, and I want to look like the smart guy. I didn’t quite discover her, but at least I want to say I bought the stock when it wasn’t $500 a share.”

Damn, that’s a strong endorsement from Ben.

Blake Lively To Light Up Green Lantern

Blake Lively will bring her “Gossip Girl” glow to “Green Lantern,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The young star will take on the role of love interest Carol Ferris, who hires test pilot Hal Jordan – the man who becomes the interstellar superhero Green Lantern.

Ryan Reynolds is playing the title role in Warner Bros.’ DC Comics adaptation, which kicks off production this spring as it ramps up toward a planned June 17, 2011 release date.

Blake’s casting didn’t come easy – according to Latino Review, other actresses vying for the role included Keri Russell and Jennifer Garner.

In addition to The CW’s “Gossip Girl,” the star recently appeared on the big screen in “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.”

Wow, she beat out Jennifer Garner, that’s impressive.

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively is having to work on her table manners because she hates it when the paparazzi catches her eating.

The actress admits she’s not the classiest person when she’s dining out and she hates the idea of fans seeing her sloppy eating habits.

She says,

“It’s odd when people look at you like you’re a zoo animal, when you’re eating dinner and they’re staring at you and then pull out their camera.

“At the end of the day I’m just a human eating my dinner and I’m a shy person and nobody wants to be looked at when they eat! I’m a messy eater. It’s odd to feel watched, and that’s something that’s been challenging for me to accept.”
