Veteran actress Betty White has been honored for her tireless animal charity work at a ceremony in Las Vegas.
The Golden Girls star received a lifetime achievement award from the Morris Animal Foundation earlier this month.
In honor of White’s continued support of the charity, American company P&G Pet Care donated $10,000 to the American Veterinary Medical Foundation.
White tells ETOnline.com,
“I can’t tell you what a special day this was. I’m the luckiest old broad on two feet because my life is divided into two halves: Half animals and half show business, the two things I love the most.”
Your a class act Betty in all you do. Love ya!

We Are The World 25 Video
Recorded on February 1st, 2010, in the same studio as the original 25 years earlier (Henson Recording Studios, formerly A&M Recording Studios) “We Are The World 25 For Haiti”, in which Jones and Richie serve as executive producers and producers, was created in collaboration with executive producers Wyclef Jean, Randy Phillips and Peter Tortorici; producers Humberto Gattica and RedOne; and co-producers Rickey Minor, Mervyn Warren and Patti Austin to benefit the Haitian earthquake relief efforts and the rebuilding of Haiti.
Academy Award-winning writer-director Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby), whose own personal efforts as well as those of Artists for Peace and Justice have already saved countless lives in Haiti, filmed the private recording session to create the accompanying video and behind-the-scenes production, and serves as Film Director and as an Executive Producer with Jones, Richie, Jean, Phillips and Tortorici.
The 25th Anniversary recording features over 80 artists and performers. The recording of We Are The World 25 For Haiti embodied the same enthusiasm, sense of purpose and generosity as the original recording 25 years ago. Every one of the artists who participated, regardless of genre or generation, walked into the room with their hearts and souls completely open to coming together to help the people of Haiti.

Simon Cowell’s Helping Haiti Video
Filed under: American Idol,Charity,Gomez TV,Simon Cowell
Simon Cowell’s global release of the Helping Haiti single “Everybody Hurts” features a documentary video of the devastation caused by the earthquake in Haiti.
The “American Idol” judge brought together 21 acts, including Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart, Jon Bon Jovi and many more to re-record R.E.M’s “Everybody Hurts” in order to raise money for Haiti relief.
I think the video was well done, showing both despair and hope.

Hope For Haiti Now Telethon Sets New Record For Funds Raised
Filed under: Celebs Do Good,Charity,George Clooney
George Clooney’s star-studded, global benefit Friday night is already setting new records.
“Hope for Haiti Now” announced that it has raised more than $58 million to date, surpassing Hurricane Katrina telethons and public donations. The preliminary figure includes donations made via phone, online, and mobile – what the figure doesn’t include are sums donated by corporations and large private donors, or iTunes sales figures, which are still being calculated.
“The public has set a new standard of giving for a relief telethon with ‘Hope for Haiti Now,’ and the donations continue to come in — people can still contribute 24/7 via phone, web and text,” said Lisa Paulsen, President & CEO of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing philanthropic support to “Hope for Haiti Now.”
If you’d like to make a donation, please visit HopeForHaitiNow.org or call (877) 99-HAITI.
Meanwhile, the Hope for Haiti Now album has become the biggest one-day album pre-order in iTunes history — and is currently the No. 1 iTunes album in 18 countries. The studio version of “Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour),” the original charity track performed by Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z, and Rihanna during the global benefit, is currently the No. 1 song on iTunes in 12 countries.
The telethon’s musical performances will be available for purchase for $.99 per song in Apple’s iTunes Store, with all proceeds benefiting Haiti relief funds managed by “Hope for Haiti Now” charities.
A source from inside the telethon says, “people who volunteered knew that what they did really counted.”
