Demi Lovato Dating Joe Jonas

Filed under: Couples, Demi Lovato, Disney, Jonas Brothers

Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas are the latest Disney stars to get together.

Lovato opened up to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush after he made multiple jabs at her love life.

Bush asked Lovato if she had ever dated a Jonas Brother, in which she replied, “Umm, maybe.”

Bush later asked if Lovato and Joe went from being a couple to being best friends, to which Lovato replied that the unraveling of the relationship was actually in the opposite direction. After further prompting, she revealed that they are indeed boyfriend-girlfriend. She added that he is an incredible person.

I don’t buy these Disney Romances, isn’t it ironic they go public days after finishing a video for their new duet together? It’s all marketing, and Disney is one of the best.

Liam Hemsworth To Star In ‘Arabian Nights’

Filed under: Disney, Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus, Movie News

Liam Hemsworth, who co-stars in Disney’s upcoming Miley Cyrus drama “The Last Song,” is jumping into action-movie territory with “Arabian Nights.”

The actor is in negotiations to star in Inferno Entertainment’s 3D adventure directed by Chuck Russell.

Inferno’s Bill Johnson is producing with Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray of Mayhem Pictures. ROAR also is producing.

Written by Russell and Barry P. Ambrose, the period epic centers on a young commander (Hemsworth) who, after his king is murdered in a coup, joins forces with Sinbad and Aladdin to rescue Queen Scheherazade.

An end-of-summer shoot is being eyed.

Hemsworth, repped by ROAR, is a relative unknown who apart from the buzz he is generating from “Song” appeared in last year’s “Knowing.”

The deal also puts him in territory being tread by brother Chris Hemsworth, who is in production as the title character in Marvel’s superhero action fantasy “Thor.”

Inferno is planning a year-end shoot for “The Grey,” an action project starring Bradley Cooper and directed by Joe Carnahan. The company also is coming off the Sundance premiere of comedy “The Kids Are All Right” and the Berlin premiere of thriller “The Experiment.”

Selena Gomez Steps In For Kidman In Monte Carlo

Filed under: Disney, Leighton Meester, Movie News, Nicole Kidman, Selena Gomez

Teen sensation Selena Gomez has stepped in for Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman in upcoming movie Monte Carlo, after producers decided to give the script a more youthful spin.

The 17-year-old Disney actress has been named the new star of the comedy, based on the book Headhunters by Jules Bass.

Kidman, 42, was set to star in the film in 2005, which originally followed the novel’s plot more closely and sent four New Jersey women to Monaco, where they posed as heiresses.

According to trade paper Daily Variety, producers have updated the script to instead focus on a group of college and high school girls traveling from Paris, France.

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester is also reportedly in talks to join the cast

Miley Cyrus Donates Grammy Dress to Haiti Relief

Filed under: Britney Spears, Celebs Do Good, Demi Lovato, Disney, Hugh Jackman, MTV, Miley Cyrus, Nicole Richie

Last month’s devastating earthquake in Haiti has brought together Miley Cyrus and celebrity pals for an online auction to aid in Haiti relief.

“Ever since the earthquake, I’ve been trying to do my part to help the people of Haiti – and I wanted to do more,”

the Disney star told People magazine.

Cyrus, 17, has recruited a group of star-studded celebs to help with donations for the auction. Nicole Richie donated jewelry from her House of Harlow line and Britney Spears will be auctioning off her custom silver Versace dress that she wore during the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.

“Everyone has been so generous,” Cyrus told People.

“My mom and I started calling and texting all of our friends to see if they’d like to be a part of the auction. Demi Lovato was one of the first to respond. Hugh Jackman was also excited to donate something.”

The auction begins on February 8th. If you want to bid on the Herve Leger dress Cyrus wore to the Grammys, visit eBay.com/Miley.

Taylor Momsen Glad She’s Not Hannah Montana

Filed under: Disney, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Momsen

Taylor Momsen is relieved she lost the role of Hannah Montana to Miley Cyrus – because she would have struggled to live up to the teen idol ideal.

The Gossip Girl star was just nine years old when she and Cyrus were selected as two of the final three young actresses in the running for the Disney role.

But now that she’s living the rock ‘n’ roll life with her band The Pretty Reckless‎, Momsen is grateful she was cut from the auditions for the family-friendly program.

Momsen explains,

“Honestly, if I’d have ended up as Hannah Montana, I don’t know if the show would have gone as well. I probably would have told them all to go f**k themselves by the time I hit 11. And I don’t know how that would have gone down. It’s great for Miley, but I really like where I am right now and I feel really fortunate to be able to really be myself.”

I call BULLSHIT! Who the hell is she kidding? Your not going to tell me for one second that anyone in her position who lost an audition to someone who became so hugely popular wouldn’t be upset. She is full of it.

Ashley Tisdale In Producing Deal

Ashley Tisdale and her production company Blondie Girl Prods. have inked a multiyear producing deal with RelativityReal, the reality/alternative TV arm of Ryan Kavanaugh’s Relativity Media.

Deal calls for Tisdale — who is best known for playing Sharpay Evans in the “High School Musical” films — to create, develop and exec produce new series for broadcast and cable networks.

RelativityReal CEO Tom Forman called Tisdale, who is also a gold-selling recording artist, “the very definition of a multitalented artist with unique insight into young demographics.”

Deal marks the third major overall pact in less than a year for the fledgling RelativityReal. Company teamed with veteran TV exec producers Jay Blumenfield and Anthony Marsh in February and with Wilmer Valderrama in May.

Tisdale and producing partner Jessica Horowitz formed Blondie Girl two years ago and have been targeting family-friendly content both as Tisdale starring vehicles and producing projects.

Tisdale currently voices the character of Candace Flynn animated series “Phineas and Ferb” on Disney XD and Disney Channel. Her previous credits include Disney Channel hit skein “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.”

Wow who knew Tis was going to be producing. They usually just don’t hand deals like this out so she must have a talent for the job.

Walt Disney’s Grandson Faces Gun Charge

Walt Disney’s grandson has dealt the famous family another end-of-year blow following an arrest for possession of a firearm and drugs.

The news comes just two weeks after Miller’s uncle Roy Disney lost his battle with stomach cancer on 16 December.

Wild Hogs Sequel Stalls

02

What the hell is going on at Disney? They are dropping films from production like Tiger is dropping uh forget it.

In what marks the third high-profile film that Disney has halted since Rich Ross took the studio reins, “Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor Ride” has been scrapped.

The Touchstone Pictures sequel to the 2007 hit was revving up to begin production by next summer, with Walt Becker back as director, and John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy reprising their roles as biker pals in midlife crisis.

Original scribe Brad Copeland had written the sequel script, and new writers were in the process of being hired. That ended this week, when word came down that the picture wasn’t going to get made. While discussions were under way with the cast, nobody was pay or play.

Disney’s release of the Becker-directed “Old Dogs,” which starred Travolta and Williams, was poorly reviewed and did not do strong business at the box office.

The move comes after the studio pulled the plug on another Touchstone comedy — the Robin Williams-Anna Faris comedy “Wedding Banned.” Last month, Disney drydocked “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea,” a Disney label production that was steaming toward a February production start.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether creative challenges played a role in the demise of “Wild Hogs 2,” but the understanding in the community is that getting a production start on a film in the Mouse House will be a big challenge if it doesn’t squarely fit the Disney family branded model. That means it’s even tougher for Touchstone films, which are designed to be edgier.

Disney Drops Robin Williams Wedding

robin williams

Robin Williams’ new movie Wedding Banned has been canceled.

The funnyman was due to star alongside Diane Keaton and Anna Faris in the romantic comedy, which focuses on a divorced couple who kidnap their daughter on her wedding day to prevent her making the same mistakes they did.

But executives at Disney have ditched the project, just weeks after they scrapped plans for a big budget adaptation of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

Movie website Riskybusiness is reporting the production, which was due to start filming in 2010, is now in turnaround – which means another studio could pick up the project and revive the movie.

Adam Lambert Screws It Up For Other Artists

SPL130770_001

Singer Adam Lambert’s sexually charged performance at the American Music Awards has caused the Walt Disney Co-owned ABC-TV to review the steps it takes in preparing for live broadcasts of performers, Disney’s head of television said on Monday.

Lambert, the runner-up on this year’s “American Idol,” gave a controversial performance during ABC’s broadcast of the American Music Awards on November 22, in which he simulated oral sex on-stage with a backup dancer, kissed a man and gave the middle finger to the audience.

ABC edited Lambert’s performance during the West Coast broadcast of the night-time awards show, and later canceled Lambert’s scheduled November 25 appearance on its “Good Morning America” program.

Disney/ABC Television Group President Anne Sweeney told Reuters that in reaction to the Lambert performance, Disney was reviewing the steps it takes to vet live performances by getting assurances from artists that their stage shows will resemble their rehearsals, and using contractual obligations to hold them to that.

Thanks Adam, now everyone will get their balls twisted when performing on live ABC Shows.
