Brittany Murphy May Have Taken 109 Vicodin in 11 Days

Troubled starlet Brittany Murphy filled a prescription for the painkiller Vicodin just 11 days before her death late last year but 109 pills were missing when she was found collapsed in her home Dec. 20, The New York Post reported Saturday, citing a coroner’s office report.

The official cause of death has been ruled pneumonia and drug intoxication. The report says the 32-year-old “8 Mile” actress was issued 120 pills of Vicodin on Dec. 9, and only 11 were left in the bottle when she suddenly died at her Los Angeles home.

The gossip Web site TMZ is also reporting Saturday that the LA coroner’s office can’t locate the doctor who issued the prescription.

It isn’t clear why Murphy was prescribed the painkiller. Vicodin is supposed to be taken no more than four times daily, the site reported, making the max she should have taken in that time would be 44 instead of 109.

The coroner’s office has Murphy’s death an accident, and said she died of pneumonia and drug intoxication. “Iron deficiency anemia” was also cited as a cause.

TMZ is also reporting that coroner’s officials have reached out to Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, to help locate the missing doctor, but came away empty handed.

Nice to see Kristin supporting a good cause. I sure hope the Blood Bank does drug tests on their donated blood or someone is going to be feeling pretty good after a transfusion!

“Wasted” Kristin Cavallari Hunted for Cocaine at Super Bowl

Kristin Cavallari raised eyebrows for all the wrong reasons during Super Bowl weekend in Miami:

“She was wasted the entire time,”

a source says in the new issue of Us Weekly.

“She was going around to everyone, asking them to score her some coke.”

(Cavallari’s lawyer refutes the allegations to Us; MTV declined to comment.)

But those close to the hard-partying Cavallari, 23, say that such antics have become more and more typical.

“Her issues are becoming apparent to everyone,”

an insider reveals.

“She’s getting scary-thin and not showering regularly…She’s clearly unhealthy.”

Her Hills friends Brody Jenner, Audrina Patridge, Lo Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt have all urged her to check into rehab, but to no avail. “She doesn’t think she has a problem,” a source says.

Yesterday before this story hit Cavallari tweeted a preemptive tweet:

To all my fans: PLEASE don’t believe what u read and hear this wk. Its NOT true!!!! I am happy and HEALTHY

If she wasn’t don’t you think she’d still say she was. This is Hollywood!

Joe Namath’s Daughter Arrested On Drug Charges See Her Mug Shot

Sheriff’s deputies arrested the 19-year-old daughter of legendary New York Jets quarterback Joe Namath early Monday morning, RadarOnline.com has learned.

A sheriff’s deputy pulled over Olivia Namath for speeding in Jupiter, Florida around 12:48 a.m. Monday and then noticed a pile of marijuana and an open bottle of rum in her car. She was arrested on the spot, and taken to Palm Beach County Jail, as she awaits her first appearance with a judge.

Prior to her arrest, the deputy said that he followed her for a quarter mile and estimated she was driving 58 mph in a 50-mph zone in her silver Mercedes.

When she pulled over, the deputy approached her car. As he checked her driver’s license, he smelled pot in her vehicle.

Namath was traveling with two men. The deputy, accompanied by another who arrived shortly after the traffic stop, asked them all to get out of the car and began a search.

The deputies found a bag of marijuana on the driver’s side floorboard and later, when searching the trunk, they found another 200.5 grams in baggies. They also discovered an opened bottle of Captain Morgan rum and eleven Miller Lite beer bottles.

Comedian Artie Lange Hospitalized

Comedian Artie Lange has been admitted to hospital in New Jersey suffering an undisclosed ailment.

Lange, who is a regular on Howard Stern’s radio show, was taken to an unnamed medical facility on Saturday but has refused to disclose any details about his condition.

A representative for Lange says, “I can confirm that Artie is in the hospital. Artie has chosen to keep all information on this matter between him and his doctor. There will be no further comment.”

The funnyman had his driving license revoked for seven months in September after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of drugs. He told police he had a prescribed sleeping pill in his system when he was pulled over, and was ordered to serve 12 hours in an intoxicated driver resource program.

Artie is one of those people when the word comes down that they are dead you won’t be shocked! I hope he gets his shit together but he seems hell bent on self-destruction.

Jason Davis Enters Rehab Again Tom Arnold Helps

Attention Hollywood socialite drug users: Tom Arnold is here to help.

The recovering addict used his power of persuasion to urge actor-socialite Jason Davis to enter rehab this week.

The ‘True Lies’ star along with Davis’ brother Alexander showed up at an apartment where Jason was staying and staged an emergency intervention on Wednesday. They convinced Davis he was in danger of losing his life if he didn’t quit drugging. He apparently accepted and will enter a rehab facility.

Jason’s mom Nancy Davis says: “My son Alexander and Tom Arnold went to help my son Jason, who is an addict, to help save his life.”

This isn’t the first time Jason has tried rehab. He was sentenced in September 2008 to a 36-month drug program after pleading guilty to heroin possession.

It’s unclear if another Davis brother, Brandon, best known for calling Lindsay Lohan “Firecrotch” and for his own rehab stint, was a part of the efforts.

So how does Arnold know Davis? In 1993, Jason made three appearances on ‘Roseanne,’ which Arnold produced and appeared in.

I like Tom and I like his cause but he’s wasting his time with these spoiled little brats!

Elton John Helps Eminem Fight Drug Use

Elton John says he has been helping rapper Eminem fight drug problems for more than a year.

John told BBC Radio Saturday that Eminem is succeeding in his well-publicized battle against substance abuse. “I’ve been helping Eminem over the last 18 months and he’s doing brilliantly,” John says, reports the British Press Association. “I’m there if people want my help. If people ask for help you tell them where to go but there’s no point advising people if they don’t want to do it.”

John believes that as a recovered drug abuser, he is happy to help people if they want the assistance but drugs make people so cocky and arrogant that they often reject help.

Eminem, who had been accused of being homophobic, performed with John during the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards on February 21, 2001. The two sang Eminem’s song ‘Stan’ to show the rapper had no hate for the LGBT community. Eminem won three Grammys despite anger over his lyrics, which critics revile as anti-gay and violent.

In May, Eminem admitted he’d suffered from a devastating drug addiction that led to him downing as many as 20 Vicodin, Ambien and Valium in a day. “The numbers got so high,” he told Vibe magazine, “I don’t even know what I was taking.

Following his first stint in rehab in 2005, the rapper said he nearly overdosed after an acquaintance gave him unidentified blue pills, which a doctor later told him were actually methadone.

Sizemore & Fleiss Come Face To Face On Rehab TV Show

Former couple Tom Sizemore and Heidi Fleiss had an awkward TV encounter when both appeared in hit U.S. show Celebrity Rehab… With Dr. Drew.

Ex-Hollywood Madam Fleiss signed up for the TV show in an effort to kick addictions to Vicodin and speed, but she didn’t think she’d come face to face with Sizemore, who was convicted of physically abusing her.

In a frosty encounter, Fleiss tells the actor, “You’re such a loser… The thought of being with you turns women gay.”

There’s other dramas on the upcoming third season of the show – fallen country star Mindy McCready sparks a medical emergency when she suffers convulsions and basketball bad boy Dennis Rodman is ordered to attend the Pasadena Recovery Center home of the series by a Los Angeles court.

The show premieres in America on 7 January.
