Rapper T.I. Released From Jail After Drug Arrest

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says Grammy-winning rapper T.I. and his wife have been released from jail after his arrest on suspicion of possessing drugs.

The 29-year-old rapper and his wife, Tameka Cottle, were taken into custody Wednesday night in West Hollywood after a sheriff’s deputy allegedly smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from their car during a traffic stop.

Deputy Luis Castro says the two were released at about 4 a.m. Thursday after posting $10,000 bail each.

The rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., is still on probation after spending time behind bars on gun charges.

Paris Hilton to Be Charged With Drug Felony

Paris Hilton will be charged with possession of a controlled substance — .8 grams of cocaine — this according to documents obtained by TMZ … and it’s a felony.

The D.A. will file the case today.

According to the police report, the cop who stopped the Escalade pulled along the passenger side of the vehicle and smelled “the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.”

The cop writes he noticed immediately the passenger was Paris. He then observed her trying to roll up the window.

After the traffic stop and a crowd of 100 people gathered around, Hilton said she was “extremely embarrassed” and asked the cop if she could go to the bathroom at the Wynn Hotel.

At the hotel, Paris told the cop she needed lip balm so the cop handed Paris her purse:

“As she began to open it, I saw a small bindle of what I believed to be cocaine in a clear baggie begin to fall from the purse and into my hand.”

The cop also says … inside the purse was a “broken tablet of Albuterol” — a prescription medication used to control wheezing. And cops say they found Zig Zag wrappers … commonly used to roll joints.

Paris then admitted the Albuterol was hers but she said the cocaine was not and claimed the purse was not hers — that she had borrowed it from a friend. The cop questioned Paris about the cocaine and according to cops Paris gave an odd answer:

“She said she had not seen it, but now thought it was gum.”

Note: Paris has changed her story with friends, saying the purse was hers but had been in the possession of a friend. Paris claimed to cops several cosmetic items in the purse were not hers, but she copped to $1,300 cash and some credit cards.

Cops say they found .8 grams of coke in the purse.

Hilton’s Boyfriend ‘Fired’ Over DUI Incident

Paris Hilton’s boyfriend has been fired from his job at a leading Las Vegas nightclub following the couple’s brush with the law in Sin City on Friday night, according to reports.

The socialite and her partner Cy Waits were driving down the famous Las Vegas Strip when their car was pulled over by cops.

Waits was arrested on suspicion of DUI and Hilton was charged with cocaine possession after police officers allegedly found drugs in her purse.

Now new reports suggest Waits has lost his job as head of nightclub operations for Wynn and Encore properties following the scandal.

A Las Vegas insider tells E! Online,

“Wynn has a zero-tolerance policy with their club execs when it comes to brushes with the law.”

The news comes as new details about the night’s events have emerged, with a police officer claiming cops discovered Hilton was carrying a quantity of suspicious white powder when she opened her purse to apply her lip balm and a small bag fell out.

Police sargeant John Sheahan tells the New York Daily News, “Miss Hilton pulled out a tube of lip balm. At the same time… a bindle (sic) of cocaine in a plastic bag came out of her purse.”

Hilton’s lawyer David Chesnoff remains adamant the socialite will be “exonerated”. He says, “As the case proceeds, a lot of facts are going to come to light that will ultimately lead to exoneration.”

Hilton Arrested For Cocaine Possession

Paris Hilton has been arrested on suspicion of possessing cocaine.

The socialite was detained by police in Las Vegas on Friday night after they pulled over a car in which she was a passenger.

Cops are said to have found a suspicious-looking white powder in Hilton’s purse, which was tested and allegedly proved to be cocaine.

The hotel heiress was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center, where she was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Hilton has been released on her own recognizance, according to TMZ.com.

In July, the star was questioned by cops in South Africa after her pal was suspected of smoking marijuana during the soccer World Cup festivities. Hilton also served time in jail in 2007 on a DUI charge.

Very disappointed, I actually thought she had her shit together. Lock her up!

UPDATE:Paris Hilton is already claiming it wasn’t her purse. Yeah right.

Lohan’s Prescription Pill Regime Revealed In Probation Report

Lindsay Lohan has been taking a cocktail of anti-depressants and painkillers, according to a probation report filed on Tuesday.

The troubled star was sentenced to 90 days behind bars on Tuesday for violating the terms of her probation stemming from a 2007 DUI arrest.

A report filed in Los Angeles Superior Court stated that Lohan had passed random drug and alcohol tests between May 27th and June 24th – but had taken five prescribed medications, including amphetamines and opiates.

Chief Probation Officer Donald H. Blevins’ report adds that the prescription pills are “not a violation of probation” but that,

“The defendant indicates she has been on the same prescription medication for as long as she can remember.”

According to the papers, Lohan regularly takes antidepressants Zoloft and trazodone, stimulant Adderall, Nexium for acid reflux and super-strength painkiller Dilaudid for dental troubles.

In the documents, Blevins praises the star’s progress, writing,

“(Lohan) states she wants to move on with her life, and feels that she has done everything that the court has asked her to do. Her attitude has been positive.”

Nicole Richie Handed Year’s Probation Extension

Nicole Richie has been granted an extension to her probation because motherhood has prevented her from completing court-ordered alcohol education classes.

The fashion designer was taken into custody by California police in December, 2006 and charged with driving under the influence (DUI).

She was sentenced to four days behind bars in 2007 after confessing to using marijuana and powerful painkiller Vicodin, but served just 82 minutes of her jail term. She was also ordered to attend 38 alcohol education classes as part of her probation.

However, Richie has been unable to complete the requirement in the three years since she was sentenced after starting a family with rocker Joel Madden – the star was granted leave from the course when she gave birth to daughter Harlow in January, 2008, and son Sparrow in September, 2009.

Her probation was due to end in July but her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, headed to a Los Angeles court on Tuesday to explain the delay in completing the classes and request extra time.

The judge approved Holley’s request and Richie has now been given until March, 2011 to complete the classes, although her probation could be terminated early if she finishes them before the deadline.

And Richie will have another reason to be happy with the news of the extension – a report about her class attendance states, “Her attitude is excellent.”

Slipknot Bassist Died Of Morphine Overdose

Autopsy results show the bassist for heavy metal band Slipknot died of an accidental overdose of morphine and fentanyl, a synthetic morphine substitute, police said Monday.

Paul Gray, 38, was found dead in a suburban Des Moines hotel room on May 25. A hotel worker told a 911 dispatcher that a hypodermic needle was found near Gray’s body and that pills also were found in the room.

The autopsy shows he died of an overdose, Urbandale police said in a news release. They also said the autopsy revealed signs of significant heart disease.

No evidence has been found showing Gray had a prescription for the drugs, police spokesman Sgt. Dave Disney said. Police are trying to find out how Gray got them.

“There is no evidence that a doctor prescribed either one of those substances,” Disney said.

Gray was a co-founder of the Des Moines-based band known for its grotesque masks, thrashing sounds and aggressive, dark lyrics.

Slipknot emerged in the mid-1990s and its 1999 debut album sold about 2 million copies. The band won a Grammy in 2006 for best metal performance for the song “Before I Forget.”

Ted Koppel’s Son Died From Drugs And Alcohol

The tragic son of famed anchorman Ted Koppel died from a lethal dose of alcohol, illegal and prescription drugs, according to a newly released report from the New York City medical examiner.

Andrew Koppel, son of the former Nightline host, passed away in the early hours of 31 May following reports of an all-day drinking binge.

Paramedics were called to an apartment in Manhattan and pronounced the 40-year-old lawyer dead at the scene.

The medical report stated Koppel’s cause of death as acute intoxication, due to the combined effects of alcohol, heroin, cocaine and the painkiller Valium.

The death has been ruled an accident.

Larry King’s Wife In Drug Overdose Drama

Newsman Larry King’s wife Shawn is recovering after an apparent prescription drug overdose at the end of last month, according to a spokesman for the broadcaster.

Reports suggest paramedics were called to Shawn King’s home in Provo, Utah on 28 May after her father found the singer, 50, unresponsive in bed.

In a transcript of the emergency call, which was released on Wednesday, Karl Engemann told the dispatcher he couldn’t wake his daughter and he feared she may have taken too much medication for depression.

Paramedics found several empty prescription bottles, according to a police report, and a handwritten note that indicated King had taken the pills intentionally and requests for the singer’s funeral.

The incident came a month after Shawn and Larry King both filed for divorce. The couple reconciled in May and called off the divorce.

A statement from Larry King reads,

“Our marriage is still together, and I am staying very close to our children, who we love immensely. We shall go through this difficult time intact as a family.”

Frickin Larry is turning into a real mess lately!
