Gary Coleman Hospitalized For Apparent Seizure

Filed under: Gary Coleman, Get Well

Former child star Gary Coleman has been hospitalized after suffering an apparent seizure on the set of The Insider.

The incident occurred on the Los Angeles set at around 10am local time on Friday.

Celebrity Rehab host Dr. Drew Pinsky, who was also set to appear on The Insider, came to the Diff’rent Strokes star’s aid and sat with him until paramedics arrived.

Coleman, who suffers from a congenital kidney disease which requires frequent dialysis, was previously admitted to hospital in January after suffering what he described as “a little seizure activity”.

His agent Robert Malcolm insisted his condition was not life threatening but refused to expand on the actor’s ailment.

Let’s face it Gary can be a real tool but one mustn’t forget that he is a real sick dude. Ever since he was a child. Maybe it’s the reason for a lot of his anger. Let’s hope he gets better.

Shooting On 24 Suspended After Sutherland Undergoes Surgery

Filed under: Get Well, Kiefer Sutherland, TV News

Production on the upcoming season of 24 has been suspended after Kiefer Sutherland suffered a ruptured cyst last week.

Shooting on the ninth series of the hit drama started earlier this month, but cameras stopped rolling after Sutherland had to take time out to undergo minor surgery.

Bosses on the show insist they were keen to stop filming for Sutherland to have the surgery, rather than making the star wait the six weeks he is required for the rest of the shoot.

It is expected he will be back at work in a matter of days.

A spokesperson for the show says, ”

We are temporarily suspending production of 24 while our friend and colleague Kiefer Sutherland undergoes a medical procedure. We hope to resume production shortly and do not anticipate any disruption in the broadcast of this season’s episodes.”

Doesn’t sound too serious and we wish Kiefer a speedy recovery.

Lou Gossett Jr. Battling Prostate Cancer

Veteran actor Louis Gossett Jr. has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

The An Officer and a Gentleman star has started an intensive treatment program to battle the disease.

Gossett reveals the cancer is in its early stages and he’s determined to remain optimistic so he can get back to work as soon as possible.

He says, “I count this diagnosis among the many challenges I have faced in my life and overcome. I expect this to be no different.”

Gossett made the revelation on Tuesday in a bid to encourage other black men to undergo regular examinations to prevent the spread of the cancer.

He adds, “(I wanted) to set an example for the large number of African-American men who are victims of this disease because of the comparatively low emphasis in our community on preventive examinations and early treatment.”

Great actor and great person. Get well soon.

***A Message From Chad***

Dearest NFG Family, Friends, and Fans…

Two weeks ago when I went to the Doctor with pneumonia.. they found some nodules in my thyroid , and one of them is a little bigger then a quarter. They did a biopsy and the report came back that there are some suspicious cells in the cyst. So due to the size and to be safe, Today at 2:45 I am having surgery and getting half of my thyroid removed. Immediately after removing it they will observe it and see if it looks like a cancer. If they find anything they will remove the rest of my thyroid. The odds are in my favor for it to be nothing which keeps me positive going in… I am only planning on missing the first three shows of this tour, and my good friend Anthony Raneri from the band BAYSIDE will be filling in for me until i make it back out. Thanks again for all the love and support and I hope to see you all super soon.

Love Always,
Chad Gilbert aka :@xchadballx,Captain Straight Edge, chad hulud etc.

Many people sent well wishes to Chad throughout the day via twitter and other fan sites.
