Janet Jacksonsays Tyler Perry, famed writer, director and her co-star in the new movie “Why Did I Get Married Too,” was her rock after the tragic death of her beloved brother, Michael Jackson.
Janet says that Tyler was
“very protective,” adding, “He was very supportive. Very much there for me with everything that was going on in my life.”
The sudden death of the King of Pop came just weeks before they started shooting the new film. Janet says Perry was willing to give her all the time she needed.
“He actually asked me if I wanted to take a few weeks off,”
she says. Janet instead chose to work, hoping her craft would help her through a tough time. She succeeded. The dramatic scenes of the film were “very cathartic for me,” said Janet, adding, “just going straight to work helps you work through it.”
Asked if she’d ever like to remake one of her brother’s songs, Janet says she’d definitely like to take that route.
“I’d have to think about what song that would be,” she says, “but yes, I would.”
I guess I’ll sum it up first. You should never mess with a classic, never, it will not measure up to the original. Since I have so many problems with this video I’ll list them in numerical order to keep it easy to follow.
1. The first voice and image is that of a 15 year old semi heartthrob that no one will know in a year or two? – Justin Bieber
2. Using Michael Jackson’s image and voice, okay I guess but then throwing his sister Janet in to sing with him is just crap!
4. Enrique Iglesias - Is there a worst singer on the planet that makes a living singing? This dude doesn’t even sing, he talks.
5. Michael Jackson once was ok, over and over is ridiculous!
6. Lil’ Wayne by far the worst on so many fronts. First off he doesn’t sing. So they auto tune him to death. Now there is quality. Kinda like steroids in sports. It’s cheating. Secondly, this was done a day before he was supposed to report to prison to serve a jail term. Classy!
7. Akon – Auto Tune again!
8. T-Pain – Auto Tune
9. Jamie Foxx doing Ray Charles was the most disrespectful thing I’ve seen! Even he was laughing when done.
10. The whole Rap segment. What what? Why didn’t the rappers get together and do their own version much like Gloria Estefan is with the Latin community?

ABC has booked a primetime interview with Janet Jackson, expected to be her first lengthy television interview since her brother Michael’s death.
ABC’s Robin Roberts will interview Jackson at her California home for an hourlong special scheduled to air on Nov. 18. Jackson is promoting a greatest hits CD that is coming out for the holiday season.
ABC says it’s the first time Jackson has allowed television cameras into her Malibu home.
Janet Jackson paid tribute to her late brother in September at MTV’s Video Music Awards. She danced to a recording of their duet “Scream” and did not address the audience.
MICHAEL JACKSON’s alleged half-sister has spoken of her heartbreak after she met her superstar sibling for the first time – and he showed no interest in her.
Joh Vonnie Jackson, whose mother Cheryle Terrell had a 25-year affair with Michael’s dad Joe, finally came face-to-face with the singer at a family get-together at his Neverland Ranch in 2003 after years of admiring him from afar.
But she was devastated when the Thriller legend snubbed her and instead approached her then eight-year-old daughter Yasmine to get to know her better.
Joh Vonnie says,
“It was a big moment for me. But Michael was looking at me and seemed cold. He just said, ‘Hi’ and then he saw my daughter Yasmine and was fascinated with her.
“He never acknowledged that I was his sister, there was no hug or kiss, not even a handshake. No physical contact at all. I wanted to embrace him. I thought he would want to go some place quiet and sit and talk with me and ask me about my life and get to know me a little better. It was very hurtful. He was not interested at all.
“With my daughter he was totally different. She got hugs and kisses, everything I didn’t get. I was a little jealous. But there was a bunch of people there and I never did get a chance to speak to Michael properly. Again, there was this theme that I felt shut out.”
JohVonnie is close with Jackson siblings Jermaine and Rebbie, but admits she was also shunned by famous half-sister Janet when they met.
She adds,
“I met Janet when I was 15. I saw her that one time and it was clear she never wanted to have a relationship with me. I couldn’t really understand why. She was staring at me and checking me out and as soon as she heard me call Joseph ‘Daddy’, she switched off, turned her back and never spoke to me again.”
Maybe they didn’t want relationships with you because it’s a little awkward? It’s not like their Dad remarried and had kids. You were born out of an affair which obviously has some complications for everyone.
