Lady Gaga To Steal Britney Spears’ Twitter Crown

In a symbolic exchanging of the pop princess crown, Lady Gaga will soon become the world’s top Twitter user by overtaking current champ Britney Spears’ number of followers.

According to social media statistics service Famecount.com, Gaga recorded 5,635,460 followers earlier today, while Spears had 5,646,028.

With current growth rates, the “Bad Romance” singer should pass Spears’ count on Thursday or Friday at the latest.

Spears’ brief run at the top of Twitter began less than three months ago, when she overtook actor Ashton Kutcher for the top spot.

Famecount.com confirmed that Gaga’s Twitter followers, 16 million Facebook friends and YouTube popularity currently make her the most popular entity online. However, the singer’s Twitter crown is far from secure.

With Justin Bieber adding 800,000 new Twitter followers a month to his existing 4.5 million, the teen star could pass Gaga within six months.

Pattinson, Lautner And Somerhalder Lead Hottest Men Poll

Vampires and werewolves have topped a poll of the world’s hottest men, with Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner leading Glamor magazine’s coveted shortlist.

British hunk Pattinson has topped the publication’s poll to find the sexiest stars and is closely followed by Twilight werewolf Lautner in second place, while The Vampire Diaries actor Ian Somerhalder came in third.

Another vampire, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Xavier Samuel, came fourth, while Kellan Lutz, who plays another vampire in the franchise, took fifth place.

Other stars to make the top 10 include Johnny Depp, Justin Bieber and Gerard Butler.

Chelsea Handler Reveals She’s Hosting 2010 MTV Video Music Awards

For one special evening, Chelsea Handler is bringing her late-night raunch to primetime: Handler will be hosting the MTV Video Music Awards. The comedienne announced the gig on her E! talk show, “Chelsea Lately,” on Wednesday (August 18).

“Everyone knows that when you think of rap music and hip-hop you think of ‘Chelsea Lately.’ And that’s why I will be hosting [the show],”

Handler quipped, before urging her staff to vie for the extra tickets MTV gave her. “Let the ass-kissing begin,” the funnywoman smiled.

Handler will work the mic at this year’s awards show, which airs live from Los Angeles on September 12 at 9 p.m. ET. This is the first time the L.A.-based star will host the event where celebs like Lady Gaga, Eminem, Drake, Usher and Katy Perry are up for Moonmen.

Among the performers set to hit the stage are Kanye West, B.o.B, Florence and the Machine and Handler’s sometime suitor, Justin Bieber.

Hollywood’s newest BFFs? Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian.

After spending time together at a White House dinner and getting wet and wild for a fashion shoot, the teen singer says he and the reality star are keeping in constant touch even with their busy schedules.

“I have her on [BlackBerry Messenger] and we, like, talk all the time,”

the 16-year-old said Wednesday before performing at a Nashville charity concert.

Calling their “The Graduate”-themed Elle spread “cool,” Bieber says he knows just how lucky he is to have gotten the chance to work with Kardashian.

“She’s really beautiful so that was … I mean, any 16-year-old would want to do a photo shoot with her,”

he says.

But there’s more to the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star, 29, than just her looks. According to Bieber,

“Beyond just being, like, extremely hot, she’s actually, you know, a really nice person.”

Justin Bieber’s music video for “Baby” is the most-watched video ever on YouTube.

The 16-year-old pop star’s video passed Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” video to take the all-time lead. More than 246 million have watched Bieber’s video on the Google Inc.-owned website.

Bieber tweeted a thank you to “Beliebers” and said the video’s success was “crazy.” The singer wrote: “I started on youtube so … WOW!”

Bieber’s video and Lady Gaga’s switched positions briefly Friday, but as of late afternoon, Bieber was ahead by more than 600,000 views.

The most-watched clip on YouTube that isn’t a music video is the popular “Charlie bit my finger” viral video, which more than 210 million have watched.

Daniel Radcliffe was sure Justin Bieber was a girl.

The Harry Potter star admits he struggles to keep up with current hot pop stars, but had heard Bieber’s hit Baby on the radio.

However, the out-of-touch Brit believed the 16-year-old’s high-pitched vocals belonged to a female.

He tells MTV.com,

“I only heard Justin Bieber for the first time two weeks ago. I genuinely thought it was a woman singing. I’d never heard it before.

“I’m so out of the loop when it comes to pop culture that I kind of don’t even try anymore.”

But there is one superstar the Brit can’t help but notice – he’s a huge fan of Lady GaGa.

He adds,

“I know who Lady GaGa is. I think she’s kind of amazing. She’s really got a voice. My God. Not my kind of music, particularly, but she can really sing.”

Greyson Michael Chance: The Next Justin Bieber?

Watch out, Justin Bieber. There is a new kid in town and he’s ready to steal your thunder. His name is Greyson Michael Chance — he is working on becoming the next tween sensation, and like Bieber, the Internet is helping him do it.

A video of Chance performing a rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” at his school’s “Chorus Performance Night” has become an instant YouTube hit, earning well over a million views.

In the video, Chance hits all the right notes and the audience members behind him are visibly impressed with his piano playing and vocals.

The sixth grader from Oklahoma will soon show off his talent to an even bigger audience when he performs on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Thursday.

And of course, like every 12-year-old aspiring to fame, he has his own YouTube channel. On it, he claims he is inspired by Lady Gaga and Augustana, a folk rock band.

“Lady Gaga is a freak but she has so much talent and her style of music is what I would like mine to be when im (sic) older,” he writes and “Augustana is one of the most underated (sic) bands I think ever to step the planet.”
