Spider-man star Kirsten Dunsthas rekindled her romance with Dustin Hoffman’s actor son Jake, according to reports.
The actress briefly dated Hoffman in 1998, but the couple drifted apart as Dunst’s career rocketed with the release of the web-slinging superhero movies.
She was romantically linked to a number of rockers, including British star Johnny Borrell, drummer Fabrizio Moretti and, most recently, Rilo Kiley’s Jason Boesel, but insiders insist the actress has given up dating rock stars and wants someone more stable in her life.
A source says, “Kristen’s career soared, but privately she was self-destructing. She dated a string of bad boys and her life spiraled out of control.”
Dunst is now working to clean up her image after a stint in a rehabilitation center in 2008, and she has now reconnected with 29-year-old Hoffman.
The pair was spotted cuddling at an event for New York’s Tribeca Film Festival earlier this month and the actress has allegedly vowed to give up her penchant for partying to make her new relationship with clean-cut Hoffman work.
The insider adds, “Jake hardly drinks at all. Kirsten does best when she’s with a strong, solid and level-headed guy, like Jake.”

The Spider-Man star is a long-time supporter of The Art of Elysium, an organization which helps celebrities visit sick children in hospital.
Dunst regularly volunteers her services – along with stars including Ben Affleck, Courteney Cox and Eljiah Wood - and charity bosses praised her ongoing support at a gala in L.A.
Dunst says, “I’m grateful to be allowed to be of service. It’s really lovely.”
Wood, who was also at the ceremony, adds, “They essentially bring the arts community to children’s hospitals.”
British actor Robert Pattinson is set to swing into action to replace Tobey Maguire in Spider-man 4, according to a U.K. report.
The Twilight hunk is reportedly the top choice with Columbia executives to star in the film, after Maguire pulled out last week over a reported script issue.
Movie bosses are planning to make a prequel about Spider-Man’s alter-ego, Peter Parker, as a teenager instead – and Pattinson is the hot favorite to land the role.
A source says,
“The buzz in Hollywood is all about R-Patz as the hot, young thing being lined up to fill Tobey Maguire’s shoes. It would be a hard act to follow as fans were traumatised at the news Tobey was going.
“His mild-mannered portrayal as Peter Parker and the transformation to Spider-Man kept millions of fans in the cinemas for the box-office smash. He also had great chemistry with Kirsten Dunst, who plays love interest Mary Jane.”
But Pattinson faces tough competition for the coveted role – High School Musical star Zac Efronalso has his eye on playing the web-slinger.
He says, “I don’t know what the chances are to be honest. I assume they’re pretty slim. It’s a long-shot but if it came down to it, it’d be a dream come true. What young actor wouldn’t?”

Actress Kirsten Dunst put on a show for stunned party goers in New York – after crashing a bash for Oscar-winning director Jane Campion to perform an impromptu audition.
The Spider-Man star showed up uninvited to a luncheon at the posh Plaza Hotel’s Oak Room on Tuesday held in Campion’s honor.
Reports suggest Dunst is vying for a role in the filmmaker’s latest project, Runaway – based on a book of short stories by Canadian writer Alice Munro.
According to the New York Daily News, the star amused guests with a shameless show to get the director’s attention.
A source tells the newspaper, “Kirsten is tap-dancing like crazy to get a job!”
Is this bitch out of her mind? I’m dying to know what Campion thought of this. Doing something like this there is a good chance you do more harm then good.
I guess old Dunst must have been whacked out of her mind on something, this just isn’t normal behavior.
