Selena Gomez Steps In For Kidman In Monte Carlo

Teen sensation Selena Gomez has stepped in for Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman in upcoming movie Monte Carlo, after producers decided to give the script a more youthful spin.

The 17-year-old Disney actress has been named the new star of the comedy, based on the book Headhunters by Jules Bass.

Kidman, 42, was set to star in the film in 2005, which originally followed the novel’s plot more closely and sent four New Jersey women to Monaco, where they posed as heiresses.

According to trade paper Daily Variety, producers have updated the script to instead focus on a group of college and high school girls traveling from Paris, France.

Leighton Meester Foul Mouth Ho!

Gossip Girl stars Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick caused havoc on a night out in New York City on Tuesday – after their foul-mouthed outbursts allegedly prompted complaints from fellow diners.

The co-stars hit posh Big Apple eatery East 60th Street with a group of pals and immediately caused a stir – for all the wrong reasons.

According to New York gossip column PageSix, Meester continually cursed loudly as patrons tried to eat in peace, and snapped at one man who asked her to restrict her bad language.

The publication alleges the actress shouted, “F**k you! How dare you tell us to keep it down.”

But Westwick, who plays sly rich kid Chuck Bass in the series, took on the role of mediator – and offered the disgruntled diner a hug as a peace offering.

He reportedly said, “Don’t worry about my friends. We should all be happy. Let’s hug it up, guys,” before embracing the complaining reveler.

If she told me fuck you I would have gotten up and kicked her teeth in. This bitch is my Tool Of The Day!

Tim McGraw Gwyneth Paltrow To Star In Country Musical Drama

Gwyneth Paltrow, Tim McGraw, Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester are set to star in Screen Gems’ country singing drama “Love Don’t Let Me Down,” which Shana Feste wrote and is directing.

Tobey Maguire and Jenno Topping are producing under their Maguire Entertainment banner.

In “Love,” Hedlund plays a young rising singer-songwriter who becomes involved with a fallen country singer played by Paltrow. They embark on a career resurrection tour with her husband-manager (McGraw) and a beauty queen-turned-singer (Meester). Romantic entanglements and old demons threaten to derail them all.

Production is set to begin in January 2010 in Nashville.

Meester Sick Of Family Slurs

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester is sick of seeing stories about her troubled family life splashed across the front pages – because her childhood was stable and happy.

Meester was born while her mother was serving a prison sentence for involvement in a drugs ring that smuggled shipments of marijuana into the U.S. from Jamaica.

Meester’s father and aunt also served time in jail in connection with the smuggling operation.

But the actress is adamant the tabloid press got the story wrong by insisting she was brought into the world behind bars – accusing the media of twisting the facts.

She tells Britain’s Glamour magazine,

“Leighton Meester was born in a hospital. And, no (my parents) didn’t live a life of crime while I was a kid. We had big Thanksgiving dinners, with all of us at the table. I mean, how normal can you get?”

Blake Lively Gets Victoria Beckham to Appear on Gossip Girl?

Victoria Beckham has landed herself a small role on Gossip Girl, according to reports.

The former Spice Girl — who recently guest-judged on American Idol — was apparently persuaded to star on the hit CW show by its star Blake Lively, who is a big fan of Victoria’s outfits.

“Blake and costar Leighton Meester are fans of Victoria’s designs, and have both worn her dresses,” a source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper.

“Blake attended the unveiling of Victoria’s new collection in New York last month, alongside the series’ stylist Eric Damen.

“The trio started chatting and Victoria revealed she was a huge fan of the show. From here, Blake pleaded with her to guest star in an episode and ran the idea past producers.

“Victoria isn’t an actress and wanted her role to be very tongue-in-cheek. And an idea for her to play Ed Westwick’s long-lost mother was quickly vetoed. Victoria joked that she’d rather play his ex-love interest!”

Meester Terrifies Cops With Bloody Face

Actress Leighton Meester left traffic cops concerned and terrified when they stopped her for speeding and discovered she had blood all over her face.

The Gossip Girl star was dashing home after shooting new thriller The Roommate and had forgotten to wipe the fake goo off her face.

She says,

“My character goes through a lot of problems… and I ended up with a lot of blood on my face… I looked like I had been in a cage fight.

“The police pulled me over… I might have been going a little fast… They were like, ‘How much have you had to drink?’ and when I said, ‘Nothing,’ they said, ‘Get out of the car’. They made me do the follow the finger and the whole thing and then they were like, ‘When does the movie come out?’

“I was just so out of it from the movie, I wasn’t drunk… I was in a weird state of mind, driving home and it was about three o’clock in the morning… I think they thought somebody had beaten me up.”
