MTV Sued Over Alleged ‘Jersey Shore’ Brawl Cover-Up

The couple involved in an altercation with cast member Ronnie says their signed network waivers are irrelevant because they were intoxicated at the time.

A couple who were involved in a boardwalk brawl on an episode of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” have filed a lawsuit claiming the network edited the footage to cover up what actually transpired, entertainment Web site TMZ reported Friday.

Joshua Thomas and Kristin Perrenod say the reality show’s producers and MTV edited the incident “in a matter that was completely inconsistent with what really took place.”

The couple claims they have a DVD that contains raw footage of the fight which shows “Jersey Shore” cast members Ronnie and Sammi “Sweetheart” provoking them by yelling homophobic slurs and other insults.

In the episode that aired, a passerby is shown insulting Ronnie and Sammi as they walk on the boardwalk, and Sammi responds with trash talk of her own. A brawl ensues after Ronnie is seen charging the troublemaker.

Thomas and Perrenod also claim a release form they signed after the incident shouldn’t be considered valid because they were “clearly intoxicated” when they signed the waiver.

The couple is suing MTV, 459 Productions, Viacom, Ronnie and others for an unspecified amount, TMZ reported.

MTV Star In Coma After Crash

MTV reality TV star Erica Mongeon is battling for life after she and her sister Victoria were involved in a near-fatal car accident in Bakersfield, California.

According to TMZ.com, the sibling stars of dating show A Double Shot at Love were passengers in a car traveling through Bakersfield on Tuesday when their vehicle collided with a truck.

Victoria and the driver of the car were not seriously injured, but reports suggest Erica needed immediate medical attention and was taken to hospital.

Once there, she was placed in a medically-induced coma, so doctors could work on a head wound.

The website reports medics found blood on her brain.

The injured star’s manager says doctors are optimistic.

Jersey Shore’s JWoww and Snooki Are Not Italian

So much for being “guidette” princesses.

Jersey Shore star Jenni “JWoww” Farley, 23, admitted on Fox’s Strategy Room Tuesday that she and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi aren’t even Italian!

J-Woww says she’s Spanish and Irish, while Snooki, 21, is Chilean.

JWoww also shattered another Jersey Shore myth: The girls don’t believe in GTL! (Which stands for gym, tan, laundry, the schedule made famous by co-star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.)

Instead, they follow a SSC routine: sleeping, shopping and clubbing.

Lady Gaga Will Deliver More ‘Magic’ Soon, Producer RedOne Promises

Lady Gaga might be busy touring, winning awards and keeping people guessing with her near-hourly costume changes, but producer RedOne, who collaborated with Gaga on her hits “Bad Romance,” “Just Dance” and more, promises that they plan to hit the studio again soon.

“We spoke about it, absolutely,” RedOne — who picked up a pair of Grammys for his work with Gaga late last month — told MTV News. “So we’re gonna start very, very soon. I think within weeks, we’re just gonna rock again. When me and Gaga get together, it’s crazy. It’s unbelievable.”

With so many hits under their belts and such high expectations, he admitted that he’s feeling some pressure. But RedOne, who recently produced the “We Are the World” remake, said pressure has helped him produce some of Gaga’s biggest songs.

“It’s the same. It was a little pressure coming from ‘Just Dance,’ ‘LoveGame’ and ‘Poker Face’ — all these hits, they were massive. We got together, and the same magic happened,” he said of reuniting with Gaga for The Fame Monster. “We did ‘Bad Romance,’ it was incredible. We did it on a tour bus. When we get together, magic … that’s the beauty of it. She hasn’t changed at all to me.”

So how will they top the massive popularity and undeniable charm of “Bad Romance”? Well, you’ll have to stay tuned. “You should wait for it,” he teased. “That’s the mystery. That’s what’s going to make it more special when it comes out.”

Miley Cyrus Donates Grammy Dress to Haiti Relief

Last month’s devastating earthquake in Haiti has brought together Miley Cyrus and celebrity pals for an online auction to aid in Haiti relief.

“Ever since the earthquake, I’ve been trying to do my part to help the people of Haiti – and I wanted to do more,”

the Disney star told People magazine.

Cyrus, 17, has recruited a group of star-studded celebs to help with donations for the auction. Nicole Richie donated jewelry from her House of Harlow line and Britney Spears will be auctioning off her custom silver Versace dress that she wore during the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.

“Everyone has been so generous,” Cyrus told People.

“My mom and I started calling and texting all of our friends to see if they’d like to be a part of the auction. Demi Lovato was one of the first to respond. Hugh Jackman was also excited to donate something.”

Cast From Jersey Shore To Appear On The View

ABC says the house mates from “Jersey Shore” are headed to “The View” for some fist-pumping and outlandish talk.

ABC says the unlikely stars from the hit MTV reality series about a group of 20-something Italian-Americans will be guests on the weekday talk show on Feb. 23.

They’re all scheduled to appear: Snooki, JWoww, Vinny, Ronnie, Sammi, DJ Pauly D and, of course, The Situation.

The outlandish, party-hearty cast has been a regular source of chatter among “The View” hosts.

“The View” airs weekdays at 11 a.m. Eastern time.

Paris Hilton’s TV Show Caught Up In Lawsuit

Paris Hilton’s reality TV search for a new best friend is at the center of an $8 million legal dispute between show bosses and producers in Dubai over plans to air the program in the United Arab Emirates.

Lionsgate Television executives claim producers at Uniqon Emirates, LLC signed a written agreement to co-produce and distribute MTV’s Paris Hilton’s My New Bff in the Middle East.

But they failed to pay up more than $4.7 million to cover the production and distribution costs and Lionsgate bosses filed a federal suit for breach of contract in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Hilton filmed a special season of the show in Dubai last summer but the project has yet to make it to TV.

Lionsgate producers are seeking compensatory damages for the failed deal.

Jersey Shore Cast Signs Up For Season Two

Someone is going to need to order some celebratory shots. “Jersey Shore” is coming back for round two.

MTV suits announced late Friday night that Pauly D, Mike, Snooki, Jenni, Sammi, Ronnie and Vinny had signed on to a second season of the wildly successful reality show. The current deal calls for 12 more shows this summer.

The biggest surprise in the press announcement was that the new series will be filmed in a “new destination” away from the boardwalk.

“Our audience has fallen in love with ‘Jersey Shore,’ ” said MTV Programming President Tony DiSanto in the statement.

Deluge Of Jersey Shore Fans Descend Upon NJ Nightclub To Meet Cast Four People Arrested

Police say fans of MTV’s “Jersey Shore”deluged a New Jersey nightclub, forcing the closure of a thoroughfare and leading to the arrests of four people.

Property owner Dick Grabowsky told the Newark Star-Ledger that about 2,000 people showed up at the 501 Lounge in Montclair on Friday night. He says the club has a capacity of 800.

Montclair Police Chief David Sabagh says fights broke out among the crowds who gathered for the advertised meet and greet with the cast of the hit reality TV show. Four people were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and drunken driving.

Police closed a stretch of the main business strip outside the club for two hours.

The show focuses on the escapades of eight 20-somethings thrown together at a summer shore house. The stars are mostly Italian-Americans.

Clooney To Host Haiti Telethon

George Clooney is the latest celebrity to plead for help in raising funds for the Haitian earthquake relief effort – the actor will host a U.S. telethon later this month.

The Up in the Air star has reportedly partnered with MTV to host the show next Friday.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Clooney is urging his famous pals to appear on the telethon to aid in fund raising.

Stars including Ben Stiller, Jessica Alba, Shakira, Oprah Winfrey and Chris Martin have also called for people to lend their support to those left homeless after Tuesday’s disaster.
