Nicole Richie Shows Off Her Short New Haircut

Nicole Richie is so confident in her new hairdo that she’s posting it for all of the World Wide Web to see.

The former ‘Simple Life’ reality star unveiled her latest look on her blog last night, calling it “makeover madness.” No doubt, the 28-year-old fashion designer has run the gamut of hairstyles — going from blonde to brunette to blonde again — but now she’s back to a shorter cut with loose, wavy layers and side-swept bangs, and we love it.

And even though Richie said she was “ready for a change” when she dyed her locks a sultry brown eight months ago, we are thinking that motherhood, stardom, and an impending walk down the aisle can cause any gal to want to lighten up a bit.

The mastermind behind the cut was her friend and celebrity hairstylist Andy Lecompte and the color was done by George Papanikolas.

Nicole Richie Handed Year’s Probation Extension

Nicole Richie has been granted an extension to her probation because motherhood has prevented her from completing court-ordered alcohol education classes.

The fashion designer was taken into custody by California police in December, 2006 and charged with driving under the influence (DUI).

She was sentenced to four days behind bars in 2007 after confessing to using marijuana and powerful painkiller Vicodin, but served just 82 minutes of her jail term. She was also ordered to attend 38 alcohol education classes as part of her probation.

However, Richie has been unable to complete the requirement in the three years since she was sentenced after starting a family with rocker Joel Madden – the star was granted leave from the course when she gave birth to daughter Harlow in January, 2008, and son Sparrow in September, 2009.

Her probation was due to end in July but her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, headed to a Los Angeles court on Tuesday to explain the delay in completing the classes and request extra time.

The judge approved Holley’s request and Richie has now been given until March, 2011 to complete the classes, although her probation could be terminated early if she finishes them before the deadline.

And Richie will have another reason to be happy with the news of the extension – a report about her class attendance states, “Her attitude is excellent.”

Joel Madden: Our Wedding Won’t Happen In June

Ever since Joel Madden and Nicole Richie got engaged, rumors have swirled about their wedding plans — but now the Good Charlotte rocker is clearing up at least one false report.

The couple are “absolutely not” getting married in June, Madden told PEOPLE Thursday at the Pampers “Dads on Diaper Duty” party in Manhattan. “We haven’t even started planning,” the rocker said.

Madden, 31 noted that he will be out on tour in the United States and Europe through most of the summer. But he and Richie, 28, are not in a rush to wed. Instead, they are concentrating on raising their family.

Son Sparrow, 9 months, is “becoming a little person,” who is on the verge of talking, says Madden. “He’s really easy, just like Harlow. They’re the easiest kids.”

These days, Harlow, 2, loves to point out all the things she can do that her younger brother can’t yet, including running, climbing stairs and eating with a fork. Still, the two kids are the best of friends, and Madden credits their good behavior to Richie’s great parenting skills. “She’s supermom,” he says.

But being a parent hasn’t taken away Richie’s devious side: “Nicole always hacks my Twitter and writes the weirdest things,” Madden says with a laugh. “It’s embarrassing, really.”

Still, her playfulness is one of the qualities Madden loves about Richie. “She has a very sick sense of humor,” he says. “Motherhood has not taken that away.”

I’m betting these two will never tie the knot!

Richie, Blair And Kardashian Strip For Shoot

Nicole Richie, Selma Blair and Kim Kardashian have all stripped off for a star-studded naked photo shoot which was presided over by Demi Moore and Amanda De Cadenet.

Richie teamed up with the actress and the reality TV star to bare all for an upcoming issue of Harper’s Bazaar, with actress-turned-photographer de Cadenet taking the pictures.

Moore accompanied her photographer pal to the shoot on Tuesday and was delighted when her friend let her step behind the camera to snap pictures of the naked women.

She described her day in a post on her Twitter.com page, writing,

“Helping my pal Amanda de Cadenet (with) her photoshoot for Bazaar – all nudes showing all types of bodies love it! Especially cuz (because) I’m behind camera!”

Ritchie later took to her own Twitter.com page to talk about the shoot, adding,

“Thank you Amanda de Cadenet & Mrs Kutcher (Moore) for such a wonderful, inspiring day. It was an honour being nude for you.”

Can’t wait to see these shots but shouldn’t nude photo shoots be for Playboy and not Harper’s Bazaar?

Nicole Richie Co-Pilots Plane

Nicole Richie has become the latest celebrity to take to the skies – she co-piloted a jet to Montreal, Canada last Thursday.

The Star was traveling to the city to promote her fashion designs for her Winter Kate and House of Harlow 1960 labels.

And she was delighted when her business partners Rick and Brian Cytrynbaum allowed her to enter the cockpit of their jet and take over the controls.

Richie, who recently announced her engagement to rocker Joel Madden, later took to her online blog to show off photos of herself in action, telling fans,

“This past Thursday, I flew to Montreal… and by flew, I mean I actually flew. My partners, Rick and Brian, let me be the co-pilot once again on their jet! It was so much fun! Now if only everyone else on the flight felt the same way.”

Nicole Richie Regrets Piercings & Tattoos

Nicole Richie regrets piercing and inking herself as a teen – because she hates the scars and “lame” tattoos that decorate her body.

The 28 year old has several small tattoos on her neck, back, foot and stomach but is hesitant to have them removed because she hears the procedure is so painful.

Richie is even more distraught about the piercings she punched through her skin – because now she’s left with lifelong scars she can do nothing about.

She says,

“Piercings scar but you could get your tattoo removed. When I was 15 I got my belly button pierced and it was a big deal, and now I have this scar there that I feel worse about than my tattoos.”

Ashlee Simpson Gets Camera Shy

Ashlee Simpson refused to show up at the party to celebrate husband Pete Wentz’s new fashion line until the party at Andaz Wall Street was clear of photographers, a source said.

“Ashlee wouldn’t even come down from her room unless assured all the photographers had gone, despite the event being to celebrate her guy’s clothing,”

we’re told.

“Then Nicole Richie showed up and wouldn’t let anyone take her picture because she said she had no makeup on.”

Simpson’s rep said,

“This was Pete’s special night and Ashlee couldn’t have been more proud. She attended the after-party and happily posed for photos.”

What a couple of stuck up bitches, at least Nicole Richie showed up. Every day I hate Ashlee Simpson more and more.There is no smaller celeb that thinks they are the biggest then Ashlee. Can’t wait for her to completely crash and burn, she’s at about 60% now.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Are Engaged!

Nicole Richie and her rocker boyfriend, Joel Madden, are getting married.

Richie, 28, made the announcement Monday on The Late Show with David Letterman.

“Yep. i’m engaged. Very happy,”

wrote Madden, 30, on Twitter Monday.

“Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while so your all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same.”

A source says, “Nicole and Joel are in the process of planning the wedding. She’s very involved in every detail. She’s thrilled.”

The couple is expected to tie the knot in the summer.

Richie and Madden started dating in December 2006 and have two children together: Harlow, 2, and Sparrow, 5 months.

Congratulations to the couple.

Miley Cyrus Donates Grammy Dress to Haiti Relief

Last month’s devastating earthquake in Haiti has brought together Miley Cyrus and celebrity pals for an online auction to aid in Haiti relief.

“Ever since the earthquake, I’ve been trying to do my part to help the people of Haiti – and I wanted to do more,”

the Disney star told People magazine.

Cyrus, 17, has recruited a group of star-studded celebs to help with donations for the auction. Nicole Richie donated jewelry from her House of Harlow line and Britney Spears will be auctioning off her custom silver Versace dress that she wore during the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.

“Everyone has been so generous,” Cyrus told People.

“My mom and I started calling and texting all of our friends to see if they’d like to be a part of the auction. Demi Lovato was one of the first to respond. Hugh Jackman was also excited to donate something.”

Richie: I Don’t Have An Eating Disorder

Nicole Richie has blasted critics who have suggested her recent weight loss is linked to an eating disorder – calling the accusations “insulting and irresponsible.”

The socialite regained her svelte figure just months after giving birth to her second child, son Sparrow, in September.

But her post-baby body has attracted some unwanted attention, with online gossips speculating she’s taking her diet to extremes.

However, Richie is adamant she’s happy and healthy.

She tells Marie Claire magazine,

“I felt it was a little unfair to say someone has an eating disorder when they don’t. It’s extremely insulting and irresponsible. An eating disorder is serious and it’s a disease. I think when you see me in person, you see that I’m, like, five foot one – I’m a small person. When I was heavier, everyone said I was too heavy. You can’t win in the public eye and I find it really hard. So I ignore it now, I really do.

“The only time it bothered me was when I was in a store trying on shoes and these girls came up to me – they were probably like 13 or 14 – and their mother came over, and she said, ‘Are you taking care of yourself, because my girls think that you’re not.’ That was upsetting.”
