Simon Cowell Looking for New Taylor Swift in ‘American Idol’s’ Top 24

Lady Gaga is his top pick for a potential music industry mentor to guide this season’s contestants.

Simon Cowell believes a woman is likely to win his final season on “American Idol.”

The acerbic British judge told a teleconference Thursday he thinks one of the 12 women among the ninth season’s 24 semifinalists has a good shot to win the Fox singing contest.

“We’ve had a few years of guys winning the show, and I would say there is definitely a better chance of a girl winning the show this year, certainly, than last year,”

Cowell said.

Whatever the gender, Cowell, who will leave at the end of the season to executive produce and judge an American edition of “The X Factor,” just wants to crown someone relevant.

“I’d love to find a Taylor Swift,”

he said.

Lady Gaga is his top pick for a potential music industry mentor to guide this season’s contestants, which include platinum-haired crooner Lilly Scott and throwback rocker Tyler Grady. Cowell called the outrageous Lady Gaga the “most relevant pop artist in the world right now.”

Moviemaker Marshall: Lautner & Swift Sealed Young Lover Over A Screen Kiss

Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift’s brief romance has finally been confirmed – by the director of the couple’s new movie Valentine’s Day.

The pair never spoke about the rumors they were dating and the Taylors have since split, but at least Garry Marshall can confirm they were once an item – and they sealed their romance with a kiss on camera.

He veteran moviemaker says,

“I always start with the kissing scenes. The first thing they did was kiss.”

And he admits the couple, who play young lovers in the star-studded movie, seemed to like locking lips:

“The first three (kisses) were nice. By the fourth I think they started going together. I don’t know what the hell happened, but somewhere in the fifth or sixth take they were dating.”

Cute story, innocent love. Shame it didn’t last, they made a nice couple.

Actor Alex Meraz Attacks Lautner’s Valentine’s Day

Actor Alex Meraz has risked the wrath of his The Twilight Saga: New Moon co-star Taylor Lautner after posting a series of criticisms online, branding the teenager’s star-studded new movie Valentine’s Day “lame”.

Lautner stars alongside Hollywood heavyweights Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper and Jessica Alba in the romantic comedy, as well as his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift.

But Meraz is not impressed by the line-up and has attacked movie studio bosses for assembling such a headline-grabbing cast just to cash in at the box office.

In a series of tweets on his Twitter.com page on Thursday Meraz wrote:

“Sorry Taylor but the movie Valentine’s Day looks lame and desperate. It cries out, ‘look we have all the biggest starz in 1 movie pleez (sic) watch!’

“P.S. it has nothing to do with the talented actors in the movie. I just don’t like the producer & Director’s ‘get rich quick skeem’ (sic) nuff (enough) said.”

Meraz later realizes his comments might cause some controversy and takes to the social networking site to vow not to post similar outbursts in the future.

He adds,

“Talk about biting the hand that feeds me… I’ll be careful next time I spill twitter all over everyone.”

What a MORON!!! Sounds like a jealous baby!

Sources Say Taylor Swift and John Mayer Are Definitely Something

John Mayerthe 32-year-old rocker, who was previously involved with 40-year-old Jennifer Aniston, is now rumored to be dating Taylor Swift, 20.

“Taylor and John are absolutely more than ‘just friends,’” a source tells Hollywoodlife.com.

“They aren’t ‘boyfriend and girlfriend’ or anything as provincial as that, but they have taken their friendship to the next level,” the source adds.

Rumors about the pair have been floating around for a few weeks.

God, this is one pairing I hope isn’t happening.

And blogs have been abuzz with rumors of a romance.

Does Swift mind all the speculation?

“I try not to be a complainer, you know?”

Next up for Swift: Sunday’s Grammys, where she’s up for eight awards.

“I get nervous about everything!” she told Us. “I am just so excited to be nominated for eight Grammys. That is sort of still unfathomable for me. I’ve never won one Grammy, so please wish me luck. I’m performing too, so hopefully that comes together.”

Taylor is no dummy. I am sure she knows better than to get romantically involved with a pig like Mayer.

There has been tension between Taylor and Joe since the country singer revealed that Joe, her ex-boyfriend, dumped her in a 27-second phone call over a year ago.

Taylor Swift Edges Susan Boyle For 2009’s Top-Selling Album

Susan Boyle’s “I Dreamed a Dream” reigns for a sixth straight week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 137,000 (down 73%) according to Nielsen SoundScan, bringing her cumulative sales total up to 3,104,000.

However, while that is a huge sales sum — especially considering it was totaled in just six weeks time — it’s not enough to overtake Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” as 2009’s top selling album. The latter is at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 this week, selling another 60,000 — bringing its 2009 total to 3,217,000.

Of course, Boyle can rest easy in knowing that her “Dream” is but one of just two albums to sell at least 3 million copies in the U.S. last year — something that hasn’t happened since 2006, when three albums did it.

Boyle’s “Dream” is also 2009’s top selling album released last year (Swift’s “Fearless” dropped in late 2008), and was also the top selling physical album of 2009. Of its overall 2009 total, physical CDs accounted for 3,019,000 copies, whereas digital downloads made up a rather tiny 86,000.

Taylor might have beat Susan but you must remember that Susan did these numbers in just 6 weeks, Taylor had 52 weeks. Congrats to both ladies!
