Ted Nugent Drummer Mick Brown Arrested After ‘Wild’ Drunken Golf Cart Escapade

It appears the ‘The Midwest Rock ‘N Roll Express’ wasn’t moving down the tracks quite fast enough for Ted Nugent drummer Mick Brown.

On the closing night of the tour featuring Styx, Reo Speedwagon and Ted Nugent in Bangor, Maine last night, July 8, things got a little out of hand. According to local police, Brown drunkenly stole a golf cart used by the venue staff and sped off — igniting a wild goose chase.

Police officers who were working at the waterfront event were alerted that Brown was recklessly driving around on the ‘borrowed’ golf cart and was obviously under the influence. When local security and police attempted to stop Brown’s wild run he gunned it down a local foot path on the cart.

The next time they would see Brown, he had two female passengers on board the golf cart and still wouldn’t stop. According to the Bangor Daily News that’s when an officer got close enough to stop Brown, but Brown shoved the officer before two security workers were able to remove Brown from the cart.

The 55-year-old Brown was placed under arrest and now faces a handful of charges including: theft and assault, operating under the influence and driving to endanger. Brown, looking quite euphoric in his mug shot, was released on $4,000 bail and is due in court on Aug. 15. Apparently now we know how he earned the nickname ‘Wild’ Mick Brown during his time with Dokken!

Is ‘American Idol’ Alum Adam Lambert Returning As A Judge?

If there’s a job with little longevity, it might be that of a singing competition judge on Fox. As the network gears up for another season of “American Idol” this winter come rumors that it will feature a familiar face on the judges panel: “Idol” alum Adam Lambert.

The glitzy Season 8 runner-up has been in talks for more than a month to join the show as a judge, according to E! News. But if Lambert’s comment on the matter is to be believed, it hasn’t happened.

“Idol has an amazing history of introducing great musical talent, and I was very fortunate to have had the Idol stage play a big part in my career,” said Lambert, who is currently on tour with Queen in the U.K., in a statement. “ IF Idol wants to talk to me about Judging, I’d be more than flattered to have that conversation.”

“Idol” has not yet announced whether Jennifer Lopez or fellow judge Steven Tyler will be returning for a third season, but there are always rumors that Lopez is looking to depart the show. Lopez’s one-year contract for $20 million was up after last season, but its not unlike Lopez, who joined the show in its 10th season, to negotiate a last-minute deal — she didn’t re-sign with “Idol” last year until August. She is currently co-headlining a summer tour with Enrique Iglesias, which is slated to wrap in September.

Fox, though, isn’t necessarily looking to get rid of the 42-year-old powerhouse, according to the E! news report. Either Tyler or original “Idol” judge Randy Jackson might not be coming back.

A spokesperson for “Idol” declined to comment on the Lambert speculation. Let’s hope things get squared away soon. The first round of auditions is already underway. The clock is ticking.

Stevie Wonder’s Nephew In Court on Charges That He Extorted Singer

Stevie Wonder’s nephew and the nephew’s girlfriend are due in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing in connection to an extortion plot against the singer.

Alpha Lorenzo Walker, 38, and Tamara Eileen Diaz, 38, face charges of felony extortion of money and other property from Wonder by “means of force and threat.”

The pair were arrested May 2 by undercover Los Angeles Police Department officers who had posed as the singer’s representatives.

Walker, a contractor, was also being held on a probation violation.

The couple were arrested after allegedly threatening to reveal embarrassing information about Wonder unless he paid them a significant sum of money.

Authorities say that, at first, Walker and Diaz demanded $5 million from Wonder, but then their price dropped to just $10,000.
